This shoot was for my first front cover, using my model Niall.
I used my time in school to create my set using a plain white backdrop and professional lighting along with my own tripod and camera set up.
Camera Settings
I played around with my settings initially opting for the default portrait setting on my Canon 1200D however the images were blurred around the edges and too dark. Therefore, I switched to manual mode to adjust the shutter speed and moved between 1/500th of a second all the way to 1/1600th but this was also not letting in enough light.
My Setup

-White backdrop
-Stool
-Tripod
-Camera
-Light Equipment
-Model

The Process
I knew I wanted Niall sat down for a more casual, calm look and in semi- casual clothing such as the jeans and jumper in the image. I also took many shots without his jumper in a colourful graphic T-shirt which I believe came out even better than the others as there is a more noticeable colour contrast in those. I had him pose on the floor, with school equipment, reading, smiling and more candid images of him looking away.
Contact Sheet

I took around 140 images and settled on around 3 favourite images, went through and my next step is editing these to be ready to put on my front cover.
